Thumbs Up

To Springfield Township roadmaster and crew. Thank you for maintaining township roads. In response to Thumbs Down: The state is responsible for Richlandtown Pike.

Thumbs Up

To the kind soul who created the colorful, hand-painted yard signs with uplifting messages placed along Route 212 and Rattlesnake Road in Durham Township. Good vibes whenever I see them!!

Thumbs Down

To the several dozen students who gathered in Ottsville the first week of August. You are putting others health in jeopardy. Parents- ask your children where they were on August 5th.

Thumbs Up

To Penny Power for posting Lost & Found in your community newspaper for free. Many people have been reunited with not only their property, but their beloved pets. And that is priceless.

Thumbs Down

To the train in Quakertown that goes back and forth, whistles, blows its horn and rings its bell for no reason! There is an old system that does the minimum to warn pedestrians and vehicles of a train coming, unsafe! Making people wait to go to work because someone has to play on the train. Not to mention the tracks wearing out my tires everyday. If we’re not getting public transportation, I say shut it down!

Thumbs Up

To Silverdale Fire Company lead by JC and the men/women who drove by my Perkasie home on August 25 to make some celebration noise for my grandbaby’s first birthday! It was so nice of all of you to take time out of your busy training night to make this happen for us. My family and neighbors loved your presence!!! Thank you so much!

Thumbs Down

To the individual that removed our Support Our Police signs that were placed in our driveway area. You don’t need to agree, but if you’re asking for respect you must afford that to me as well and stay off my property. All lives should be respected and in this time this definitely includes the amazing men and women of our police forces that afford us all safety and security. You should be ashamed! Who will you call in your time of need??? I wonder!

Thumbs Down

Shame on you. Throwing a beautiful American flag in your trash. Russia and China will gladly let you move there. I’ll help you pack! Did you put it in the trash flag first so your neighbors wouldn’t see? There is no excuse! Shame on you!

Thumbs Down

To whoever took the white canopy from the Last Chance Ranch Thrift Shop in Coopersburg. Our staff and volunteers use it to protect themselves from inclement weather while sorting the donations. Please bring it back!

Thumbs Down

To anyone using sticky tape on their trees to catch spotted lanternflies. Many birds are getting stuck and getting severely injured or worse. If you don’t believe me, Google ”Spotted lanternfly tape killing birds”. The images are very sad. The tape also kills too many bugs other than spotted lantern flies. If you have this tape on your trees, please, please, please remove it. If your neighbors have it, please try to educate them.

Thumbs Down

To the person(s) who vandalized the sign at Morningstar Moravian Church in Coopersburg.

Thumbs Down

To the creep who stole our outdoor bistro table and broken chair.

Thumbs Up

To John from Pennsburg who drove by me on Route 663 and stopped when he saw I was walking with my bike that had a flat tire. He gave me a ride home with my bike in the back of his truck bed. We need more people like you in this world. Thank you! Please remember to share the road with us bikers. John did.

Thumbs Down

In response to the “Thumbs Down” about an American flag being thrown in the trash. Shame on you! Did you offer to teach your neighbor proper flag disposal? Of course not, it’s easier to shame them anonymously! Not everyone knows to separate and burn. Try a more open-minded approach next time!

Thumbs Up

To the gentleman who donated his canopy/tent to Last Chance Ranch Thrift Shop in Coopersburg. A great big thank you!! We all appreciate it very much. So nice to know there are good people in our area!

Thumbs Down

To people who frequently burn wood campfires in their backyards for enjoyment. You may not realize the smoke infiltrates the neighborhood. Others cannot enjoy being outdoors or opening windows. Please limit your campfires, neighborhoods are not campgrounds.

Thumbs Up

To the entire SoLeCo Pool staff! A huge thank you for opening our pool this year. It was certainly needed! We thank you for your commitment to the community. May God bless you and keep you safe.

Thumbs Down

To all of the people in town who seem to have the need to smoke out their neighbors in the evening with their fire pits. As a person who has breathing issues, wood smoke creates major problems for me and it creates issues with my quality of life. I don’t say anything to you directly because I want to keep the peace between us, but maybe consider getting a propane firepit instead. Our houses are too close together for you to be destroying my health!

Thumbs Up

To the Pennridge High School Band and all other high school bands. I watched the students practicing their routines on YouTube. It brought me to tears listening to the music as they were perfecting their performances. In this world of uncertainty, I am proud of the students’ dedication and spirit. Pennridge Proud.

Thumbs Up

To the person who wrote the ”Thumbs Down about all the backyard burning that has been taking place. There are many more of us who would like to have a peaceful evening in our backyards without it being ruined with somebody’s stinky fire pit!

Thumbs Up

To Katie (manager) and Ralph (lineman) who came to our rescue and fixed our services quickly, professionally & thoughtfully, when our internet went down. We have an autistic child who doesn’t handle it well when things like this happen. It reassured us that there are good people out there. Thank you!
