Thumbs Up

To the Quakertown students of the Varsity Football Team and Honor Society who volunteered to help set up and take down for the Quakertown Business Professional Women’s Paddle Raffle. You were a tremendous help! Thanks!

Thumbs Down

Pet peeves on drivers (How to cause an accident) Not turning on headlights at dawn and dusk and when it’s raining. Turning right when opposing traffic has a green left turn arrow. Yours is red! Riding my bumper when I don’t go over the speed limit. Richland Pike is not a speedway, it’s a rural road! With farms! Speed is 45MPH. Speeding in shopping centers and cutting drivers off at fast food lines. Signed: A Defensive Driver.

Thumbs Up

To those responsible for fixing the many pot holes on Richlandtown Pike. Great job! Kudos!

Thumbs Down

To the person who stole my brother’s wallet when he passed away. Karma will bite you back one day!

Thumbs Down

This week I noticed four flea markets and craft shows all being held on the same date- June 4th! I set up for one. Is it reasonable to ask why organizers can’t connect with each other to stagger dates? I doubt if customers will attend all our!

Thumbs Up

To the Springfield Township Environmental Advisory council for all they do to make our community a better place to live.

Thumbs Up

Thanks to the whole crew at Upper Saucon Fire Department for serving 18,000 people in Upper Saucon Township, day and night, rain or shine. It’s easy to forget the department are all volunteers responding 24 hours a day. As the expression goes “Easier said than done isn’t being said by the people getting it done!” I’m too old to volunteer now but I wish did when I younger.  John Lennon was right… life happens when you’re busy making other plans.

Thumbs Up

A very large “Thumbs Up” to the man who helped a lady on April 26th at 3pm in Quakertown. She was walking out of a store, tripped and fell half way onto the road. As luck would have it, the man behind her was able to help her up, pick up her groceries which were on the ground, and walked with her to her car.

Thumbs Down

To the person who mentioned a former employee’s name and the fact that she did not get the shot, so she was fired and now she will collect unemployment for the summer. This was not a private conversation and mentioned in front of another customer. It is not really this employee’s business to be talking about other former employees and telling customers about their personal choices.

Thumbs Down

To the people who mow their lawns and blow the grass into the streets. Sometimes it is in very big globs and that does get washed into the sewer drains when it rains. Please take care of the mess you make.

Thumbs Up

Thumbs up to all the civic minded individuals, to the right and the left, democrat and republican, other parties, too, of all walks of life, who took the time to get involved in the primary election process. Now hat the primary is over, I’m looking forward to the roadside signs being promptly removed so all of us can appreciate this beautiful scenery our community has to offer.

Thumbs Down

To the business that allows their staff to wear politically motivated clothing to serve the public.
