Thumbs Down

To the person who submitted the Thumbs Down on January 5th about the people in Pipersville lifting garbage can lids the last day of garbage pickup before Christmas. Shame on you! They were probably in a very poor financial situation. Scavenging for food, clothes and probably some kind of toy to give their children on Christmas morning. You’re a spoiled finger pointer, do you think they would choose that? I think not. Pride has no place when it comes to loving our children. They should be nominated for parents of the year. And you should be awarded the winner of the Biggest 2021 Christmas Grinch Award. Maybe someday, if you’re lucky, your heart will grow big, we must be our brothers keeper. Amen.

Thumbs Up

I had a lot on my mind last week and I absent-mindedly walked off from Walmart leaving my purse in the cart, realizing it when I got back to my car and went for my keys. I ran back into the store to Customer Service and thankfully, there was my purse behind the counter. A big, grateful ”Thumbs Up” to the honorable person who found it and turned it in totally intact. It’s nice to know that there are still honest and be decent people in the community.

Thumbs Up

To the Good Samaritan who stopped and helped me get my husband up when he fell. He’s okay. Thank you very much and God bless wonderful people like you. Mary

Thumbs Up

To the person who gave a Thumbs Down to the Christmas Grinch! Way to call them out! I was thinking the same thing. Shame on people who don’t realize we live amongst many who are in need of assistance! I’m glad another person felt a sinking feeling knowing someone needed something on Christmas Eve. I’m glad you sent in such a large shaming response!

Thumbs Down

To the person or people who not only stole the cornerstone rock from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church- Ridge Valley, but to steal the baby Jesus from our outdoor manger display? Really?!! Shame on you! Stealing from a church! Disgusting! God is watching!

Thumbs Up

To everyone who takes pride in their job and does that little bit extra- especially those who work with the public this time of year!

Thumbs Up

To the young man and his daughter who I met briefly in the Weis Market in Dublin on December 26. They blessed me with a large sum of money. It’s so great to see God at work in this young family. I will pay it forward. Thanks again and may your family be richly blessed in 2022!

Thumbs Up

To the teachers in our school districts along with all employees in our schools. Your dedication to the children is greatly appreciated. With the different changes in our world these are the days when children need attention. These should be the best years of their lives.

Thumbs Up

To the kind and generous couple who paid for my dinner at Dan’s BBQ at Allentown Fairgrounds Market in late December. I was so totally overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness that I was speechless. Have a blessed 2022.

Thumbs Up

To the young couple whom I met briefly in White Orchids Thai Restaurant in Center Valley. You made January 20th an early Valentine’s Day! Cupid was in rare form. They paid for my entire meal. What a truly fantastic couple you are! Thank you so much. I do promise to return your kindness by also being a Cupid and buying someone else a meal to make an average day a love-filled Valentine’s Day.

Thumbs Down

To the people that are being critical about the person who you are calling the Christmas Grinch. That person knew what those people were looking for under trash can lids- Cash. Not clothes or food for their children. That’s how people tip their trash collectors for Christmas, tape it on the underside of the lid. That’s what I did until it was stolen one year. Now I send it to the company with the drivers’ names on it. So before you are critical, learn the facts. There are thieves out there that will even steal at Christmas. Even if they are poor they should not be stealing.

Thumbs Up

To everyone who takes pride in their job and does that little bit extra- especially those who work with the public this time of year!
