Created in 1973, the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. (BCDAC, Inc.) serves as the Single County Authority (SCA) for alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention, intervention and treatment and recovery support services. BCDAC, Inc. subcontracts with various community-based licensed agencies to provide prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support services for the residents of Bucks County.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a bi-annual event that provides community members with a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing unused, unneeded or expired medications. The fall event will take place from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022, and will feature 48 public drive-up/walk-up and drop-in collection sites throughout the county. In addition to prescription medications, law enforcement officers will be collecting over-the-counter and pet medications, vitamins, vaping products and more. Plus, seven sites throughout the county will be collecting medications and sharps and distributing Narcan on October 29th! This means that you will be able to drive up, drop off your unused, unneeded or expired medications and sharps and receive one unit of Narcan (while supplies last).
It’s important to dispose of medications safely, but it’s also important to safeguard medications in your home each and every day! To learn more about why it’s important to keep you medications safe and products available through office to help, please visit https://www.bcdac.org/prevention/safe_medication_storage/index.php
