Thumbs Up

To the Bowers family for their recent vehicle donation to the Upper Saucon Fire Department. Although the days on the road are done for your Prius the USFD will get plenty of mileage from it in vehicle rescue drills. You have provided additional opportunities for our first responders to conduct further training using our extrication tools that save lives when every second matters.

To the person with horses in a bare field with no hay. I hope you are also going hungry and cold.

To the nice man who paid for my order at the Dollar Store.

To the gentleman who paid for my pastries at the Maryann Pastry Shop in Doylestown the week of Christmas.

A Thankful Senior

Thumbs Up

Thank you to the person who hung my keys on the fence at the corner of Ridge Avenue and Diamond Street in Sellersville. I do believe there are honest people. Again, many thanks.

Thumbs Down

To the people who have a barn but keep their horses out in all kinds of bad weather!!

Thumbs Up

To the Southern Lehigh Intermediate School students for conducting a food drive to benefit Betty Lou’s Pantry. Thank you all for your efforts. Thanks again students!

Thumbs Up

To PennDOT workers Bill and Paul for helping to prevent our quaint stone bridge on Blue School Road from further deterioration by repairing the loose mortar on the inside walls and cutting back the vegetation clinging to the outer walls!!

Thumbs Up

To the kind couple who paid for our lunch at Santiago’s Diner on Friday, January 31. My friend is recovering from a fall with broken bones. This was the first time she had been out to a restaurant since the accident in early December. I can’t express how much your kind, considerate gesture meant to the both of us. Thank you so much!

Thumbs Down

To the people who walk the Rail Trail with their dogs and don’t dispose of their waste properly. It is not right to leave the poop bags along the trail. Please dispose of the waste properly.

Thumbs Up

To all the firefighters who responded to the fire on Friday, January 17th at Buck Drive in Kintnersville PA. Very much appreciated.

Thumbs Down

To the inconsiderate people who rented pontoon boats from Nockamixon Boat Rental and took alcohol out on the boats with them. The rules clearly stated “No Alcohol.” Thanks to you they no longer rent out pontoon boats. My family and I always looked forward to going out in their boats and now we won’t be able to. There is no one else in the area who rents out these boats.

Thumbs Up

To Dave and Marlene for designing and installing spacious, industrial-strength shelving units at the Quakertown Food Pantry. These volunteers donated their time and material so that the Pantry could continue its vital service to the community.

Thumbs Down

To the person(s) who late Friday night on January 31 drove around Melody Lakes pulling up in front of peoples’ houses, revving your little car with the loud exhaust and purposely creating loud backfires to disturb the peace, cause commotion and scare sleeping families. You thought you could get away with it and not get caught. The whole incident is documented and a report has been filed. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Thumbs Up

To the young couple with two energetic, lovable little sons at the Pizza Hut in Quakertown. I truly enjoyed watching your boys have the best time possible. My napkin “puppet show” and salt shaker balancing seemed to capture their imagination and attention. How surprised I was to learn that you had paid for my meal. How fortunate your sons are to have parents as friendly, loving and caring as the two of you. You not only made my average night special, but also made me feel young again. I promise to return your “pay it forward” kindness to another dining person. Thank you so much! Friendly hugs to you.

To the driver who knocked our big tree down on Route 412 on Thursday, February 13 around 5pm. Wow! You must not have been looking at all! Lots of clean up for us! It would have been nice if you had said ”Sorry”!

Thumbs Down

To the boroughs that do not enforce the PA muffler law. How many taxpayers must complain before some action is taken? As per PA law, ”Mufflers are required on all vehicles and must prevent unusual or excessive noise. Motor vehicles traveling at 35mph or less must not exceed 88 decibels. Motor vehicles traveling over 35mph must not exceed 92 decibels.”

Thumbs Up

Thank you to the customers and store employees who helped me when I fell at Quakertown Redner’s on Wednesday, February 12th. Especially the EMS guys on the ambulance. I am now sporting a new hip! Thank you all for your care and concern.
